The Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC), in association with the National Health Mission (NHM), began a massive COVID-19 check-up drive of its workers from Tuesday.

The aim of this drive is to minimise the threat of the spread of the virus.

Moreover, hundreds of vulnerable frontline workers, who are mainly engaged in various cleaning activities in the city, were immunised against tetanus, typhoid and hepatitis.

They were also screened for non-communicable diseases like diabetes, hypertension and obesity.

The workers were also provided with health cards.

The immunisation, the antibody test against COVID-19 was also done simultaneously apart from the aforementioned tests.

The AMC workers will also get free health check-ups, besides soap, sanitisers, masks and other safety gear.
