Arunachal Pradesh Education Minister and APSHEC chairman Honchun Ngandam has stressed on conducting frequent brainstorming sessions for future course of action.

Honchun Ngandam applauded the progress made by the State Education department in the growth and development of higher education in the State during the 5th Council meeting of the Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Higher Education (APSHEC).

The meeting was convened at the conference hall of the Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Technical Education (APSCTE) here on Tuesday.

Addressing the meeting, Arunachal Pradesh Education Minister and APSHEC chairman Honchun Ngandam applauded the progress made by the department in the growth and development of higher education in the State.

The minister also called upon all the members for positive and fruitful discussions and deliberations for the overall development of the higher education in the State.

While appreciating the progress made so far in the State under Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), he further called upon for continuation of the proper and judicious utilisation of resources available along with strict monitoring so that the schemes are implemented in true letter and spirit.

Ngandam also asked for expediting the inauguration of infrastructure developed through RUSA at their respective sites. He further extended his gratitude to Government of India for sanctioning Rs 46 crore and again Rs 65.00 crore for Arunachal Pradesh under RUSA 1.0 and RUSA 2.0 respectively for quality development of higher education in the State.

Earlier, Education Secretary Dr Madhu Rani Teotia, while welcoming the members apprised the house that three new projects namely, Government Engineering College, Tezu, Lohit, Government Model Degree College, Kanubari, Longding and Government Model Degree College, Piyong, Namsai have been sanctioned by the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development under RUSA 2.0.

She extended gratitude to the State’s Finance, Planning and Investment department for timely release of State matching share.

Teotia further stressed upon for proper and timely utilisation of the funds already allotted to the executive agencies and institutions for the different projects as per the prevalent norms, so that the progress of the works is not hampered. She further stated that timely submission of UCs to MHRD is also to be ensured for release of subsequent instalment of the funds.

Higher & Technical Education Director Dr Tayek Talom apprised the house that all the RUSA projects implemented in the state are constantly monitored from SPD RUSA and Institutional Project Monitoring Unit to ensure quality and timely completion of the projects.
