The 26th Jorhat Open Tennis Championship will begin at the Jorhat Tennis Club on December 25. The six day-long tournament will conclude on December 30.
It is a major state ranking tournament of the All Assam Tennis Association, and more than 200 players from different parts of the state are likely to take part in the tournament.
Raju Bhargava, Inspector General of CRPF, will inaugurate the meet at 9.30 am, the organizers said. The tournament carries scholarship money of Rs 69,000 besides trophies, certificates and state ranking points.
The events will have different categories — Boys U-12, Boys U-14, Boys U-18, Girls U-14, Girls U-18, men’s singles, Boys U-14 doubles and men’s doubles.
