Arunachal Pradesh Tourism Department has come up with a coffee table book, ‘Aromas of Arunachal’, on the various cuisines of different tribes of the State.
From the everyday items to the exotic, the cuisines of all the tribes find a place in this book titled ‘Aromas of Arunachal’.
In a way it can be said that the book will take one on a food journey across the state, from Tawang in the west to Longding in the east.
The book also throws light on the lives of various indigenous tribes of the State.
Speaking at the launch event at the State Food Craft Institute (SFCI) of Indira Gandhi Park in Itanagar on Saturday, State Tourism Minister Jarkar Gamlin said the book will not only great guide for the tourists, but also the youth, who can exploit the expertise shared to explore ‘avenues of employment’.
A customized tourist guidebook published by Outlook Traveller as part of its ‘Getaways’ series, in collaboration with the State Tourism Department was also released on the occasion.
The guidebook features comprehensive articles about various places in the State, from the famous to the more obscure and the people who live in those places.
It also provides information about the travel arrangements available in the State to facilitate the tourists visiting the State.
Gamlin said that the guidebook not only provides useful information but will also serve as an invitation to tourists to visit Arunachal Pradesh.
Tourism Secretary Joram Beda who also spoke on the occasion, said that the food and cuisines of Arunachal Pradesh are at par with those in other parts of the world.
