Four persons were seriously injured on Thursday evening in a blast at a scrap dealers’ shop at Raja Maidam Road near the former Max Mart building in Jorhat.
Sharing details, Police informed that the blast is suspected to have occurred when the four were hammering and trying to break down an oxygen cylinder, which was sold as scrap.
The injured have been admitted to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital.
The injured have been identified as Moidul Islam, Hazrat, Sahidul and another person, whose name is also Sahidul.
As per reports, Moidul is said to be in a critical condition.
Police are investigating the incident and details are awaited.
