The State Bank of India (SBI) has introduced doorstep SBI ATM service to provide a little bit of relief to its customers amid the COVID19 pandemic.
By just sending a WhatsApp message to the SBI, an account holder of the bank can bring a mobile ATM to his or her location without using the internet or moving to the nearest ATM to withdraw cash.
A media report quoted Ajay Kumar Khanna, chief general manager (CGM) of the Lucknow Circle of the bank as informing about the decision to introduce the SBI WhatsApp and SBI phone call service.
The SBI doorstep ATM service has been introduced in Lucknow and on success of the service, the bank is planning to implement it in other cities.
Informing about the doorstep SBI ATM, CGM Khanna tweeted: “This Independence Day @TheOfficialSBI for the Lucknowites has introduced the facility of Mobile ATM at their doorstep. Just dial or WhatsApp to let us know and we will do the rest.”
During lockdown on Saturday and Sunday in Lucknow, if anyone wants to draw cash from an SBI ATM, the mobile ATM van will come to the doorstep of the bank’s customer on request through a WhatsApp message or a call.
The SBI account holder is required to just WhatsApp his or her name, address and mobile number at 7052-911-911 for registration.
It is expected that the doorstep SBI ATM service will greatly help the senior citizens who can’t go out with ease.
