Now, you can search for products in Assamese language on the Flipkart app as the language has been added in the app.

The new development in the service of online marketing giant Flipkart has been shared by Assam industry & commerce minister Chandra Mohan Patowary on his Twitter handle.

Patowary said it will help the people of Assam to enjoy the e-commerce facility in Assamese language.

“Glad to inform that @Flipkart now offers Assamese language services in marketing of products. This will enable the people of Assam to enjoy e-commerce in our own language,” minister Patowary tweeted on Friday evening.

Apart from English, the consumers can avail the e-commerce facility through Flipkart in 11 languages including Assamese.

The other Indian languages in which people can avail the online marketing facility through Flipkart include Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Marathi, Telugu, Kannada, Odia, Malayalam, Gujarati and Punjabi.

In line with its aim of leveraging locally developed language solutions to help bring the next 200 million customers on board, Flipkart has added all these Indian languages’ support to its app.

According to a report, more than 5.4 million words have been translated to enable Gujarati language experience.
