Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi greeted the people particularly those belonging to Christian community on the occasion of Easter Sunday.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Governor Prof Mukhi said, “Let me take the pleasure in extending my greetings to my Christian brethren on the occasion of Easter Sunday, the day we commemorate the resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ.”
“Let this day give us an opportunity to inspire us to strive for a better tomorrow and a more meaningful life, he added.
He also appealed to everybody not to venture out for any congregation and stay home to break the chain of transmission of COVID-19 during the lock down period.
“Let us all be at home and pray to the Lord to bless us, protect us and empower us to serve the poor and downtrodden,” Mukhi added.
