The Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Parishad (AJYP) and 9 other organisations on Thursday staged a clamorous campaign against the construction work at Lower Subansiri Hydro Electrical Power project in North Lakhimpur.

Termed as ‘Rana Dhwani’ (war cry) against the LSHEP, a hydroelectric project of the NHPC Limited., the agitating group blew conch shells, bells and percussion instruments to declare a war against the project.

The agitational programme of the AJYP was joined by activists of nine other organizations demanding scrapping of the hydro-electric project for the safety and security of the downstream areas of the dam on river Subansiri in Assam.
