A senior teacher Nagen Kumar of Phulkuchi Middle English allegedly attempted to molest a class eight girl. The incident happened on December 8 in Udalguri district. The girl is a student of the same school.
The thirteen-year-old told police in her statement said the teacher called her inside the computer lab and kissed her on the cheeks and caressed her. This happened while the other children were playing outside.
The girl revealed her ordeal to her parents on reaching home. Her parents meanwhile approached Panery police station to file a complaint against the teacher.
Following the complaint he has been arrested and sent to court which forwarded him to judicial custody on Wednesday. An offical of Panery police station told NE NOW correspondent that the accused teacher has been charged under provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act (POSCO) 2012 Act, R/W 294 IPC vide Panery PS case no. 109/17.
