The COVID-19 tally in Lakhimpur district rose to 650 in the last twenty-four hours, informed the district health department on Friday.
There was a single-day spike of 52 COVID-19 cases in the district on Thursday in which 14 cases were reported from Khelmati area of North Lakhimpur town.
The infected persons included street vendors like vegetable sellers and chanawallas.
There are reports of two COVID-19 positive cases of two staff members of a private nursing home in Nakari in North Lakhimpur and of a family in Gopi Nagar.
According to the district health department, 424 persons have recovered from the disease and were discharged from various hospitals in Lakhimpur while 226 are still being admitted to various hospitals.
