The Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) gas cylinder delivery system has changed with effect from Sunday.
According to the new rules, the LPG cylinder subscribers now will have to furnish a one-time password (OTP) to ensure the home delivery of their LPG cylinders.
The oil companies will implement the Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) for the customers, who opt for home delivery of their LPG cylinders.
The Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) is already underway at Jaipur in Rajasthan as a pilot project.
Initially, the system will be implemented in 100 smart cities.
As per the new rules, the customers, who want home delivery of their LPG cylinders, will get a code on their registered mobile number.
The LPG cylinders will be successfully delivered when the customers provide the OTP Code to the delivery person, say media reports.
It has been reported that the subscribers, who fail to implement the new delivery system, will face problems in ordering LPG cylinders.
Indian Oil has started one common number for Indane LPG refill booking for the convenience of its customers.
The LPG refilling common booking number for the entire nation is 7718955555 and it is a 24×7 service for the customers.
In a press release, the Union petroleum and natural gas ministry said: “The current system of telecom circle-specific phone numbers for booking Indane LPG refills will be discontinued after 31.10.2020 midnight and the common booking number for LPG refills i.e. 7718955555, will be in force.”
