India registered its best-ever performance at Paralympic games with an overall medal’s tally of 19.

India signed off from the Tokyo Paralympics with five gold, eight silver, and six bronze medals.

With a total of 19 medals, India bettered its previous best tally of four medals at Rio de Janeiro.

India finished 24th at the Tokyo Paralympics.

India had gone into the Games with a contingent of just 54 athletes.

India secured its first medal in the Tokyo Games as Bhavinaben Patel won silver in table tennis women’s singles (Class 4).

Meanwhile, Krishna Nagar finished India’s campaign on a high by winning India’s fifth gold in badminton men’s singles (SH6) on the last day of the Games.

India’s performances at the Tokyo Paralympics followed the country’s best medal haul in the Olympic Games as well, with a tally of seven medals.
