Two persons were nabbed on Sunday evening by the personnel of 24th Battalion of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) at Patkijuli village under Darrangamela Police Outpost along the Indo-Bhutan border in Baksa on charges of being involved in sale of illegal fuel.
Sources said, following secret information, a team of the 24th Battalion of SSB launched an operation in Patkijuli village and was able to seize 225 litres of illegal petrol and 25 litres of illegal diesel.
The 24th Bn SSB team nabbed two persons in the case.
The SSB team also seized one motorcycle and two mobile handsets from the possession of the duo.
The illegal petrol, diesel and other seized items worth Rs 55632.50 have been handed over to Darrangamela Police along with the arrested persons.
A case has been registered against the duo.
Police are investigating the matter for more information.
