Mizoram’s COVID-19 caseload mounted to 10,220 as the state reported 214 new cases on Sunday morning, health officials said.

A total of 31 people have succumbed to the viral infection and 7736 Covid-19 patients have so far recovered, said an official.

He said that Mizoram has now 2453 active cases. The positivity rate in the state stands at 6.20 per cent.

Of the 214 new cases, 65 were detected through the RT-PCR test, five through TrueNat and the rest 144 cases were detected through Rapid Antigen Test, he said.

On Saturday 292 people, including 54 children, tested positive for novel coronavirus.

According to state immunization officer Dr. Lalzawmi, 2,46,511 people have been administered the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine of which 51,960 have received both doses till Friday.
