Tripura Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Mujibur Islam Majumdar has succumbed to the injuries that he sustained in an attack by “BJP goons”. 

Majumdar breathed his last in the wee hours of Wednesday at the SSKM Hospital in Kolkata. 

TMC leader Mujibur Islam Majumdar had sustained serious injuries in an attack by “BJP goons” in August last year after he quit the saffron party. 

Majumdar was the second son of Former Tripura agriculture minister in earlier Congress government Mansur Ali.

Mujibur Islam Majumdar suffered from multiple ailments, including cardiovascular disease, after he was assaulted allegedly by “BJP goons” at his residence. 

He is survived by his wife and two children. 

Demise of Mujibur Islam Majumdar has evoked sharp reactions from the TMC. 

The TMC is holding BJP responsible for Majumdar’s death.

TMC leader Subal Bhowmik has demanded exemplary punishment to the accused who assaulted Mujibur that led to his untimely demise. 

“There is absolutely no law and order in Tripura. The state has collapsed into its darkest days under BJP’s misrule. We demand justice for Majibur Islam Majumder,” Tripura TMC said.
