To bring back the people of Tripura, stranded in various states due to lockdown in view of COVID19 pandemic, the state government has engaged seven secretary-level officials, including two additional secretaries.
The stranded people of Tripura, including migrant workers, pilgrims, tourists, students and others, now can contact these officials over the telephone.
An office memorandum, issued by chief secretary Manoj Kumar on Monday said: “Many people of this state like migrant workers, pilgrims, tourists, students and others are stranded across different states due to countrywide lockdown declared to contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.”
Stating that the stranded people “may be in great hardship and willing to come back to Tripura”, the chief secretary said officers have been engaged to bring back these people.
According to the office memorandum, IAS officer and additional secretary Vikas Singh has been engaged for the people stranded in Tamil Nadu. He can be contacted at 0381-241-2463.
Secretary Sahadeb Das, engaged for Telangana, can be contacted at 9436463781 while secretary Tanusree Debbarma, engaged for Karnataka, can be contacted at 0381-2414252.
Secretary Soumya Gupta has been engaged for the people stranded in Assam, who can be contacted at 0381-241-8016.
Secretary Apurba Roy, who has been engaged for West Bengal, will be available at 0381-241-2943 while secretary Kiran Gitte, who has been engaged for people stranded in Maharashtra, can be contacted at 9436465984.
Meanwhile, additional secretary Debananda Reang will look after the cases for people of Tripura stranded in other states except for the above-mentioned six states. He can be contacted at 0381-241-5044.
“The list of stranded persons will be given by the office of Nodal Officer,” said chief secretary Kumar.
Informing about the officers being engaged for bringing back the stranded people, Tripura chief minister Biplab Kr Deb tweeted: “We have appointed the following officials for respective States to help in bringing back the stranded people in Tripura.”
“We are committed to help everyone, please co-operate with Government. Don’t panic,” he added.
