Ganga Prasad Prasin is the new vice chancellor of the Tripura Central University.
He is currently working as the Dean in the Department of School of Social Sciences at Manipur Central University (Imphal).
He is coming to the State in the next few days.
The last vice chancellor was Professor Dharurkar, who joined in the University in 2018.
But last year he resigned from his post as corruption charges were raised against him.
From then on the post has been lying vacant and in-charge vice chancellor is looking the University matters now.
The process of appointing a vice chancellor in Tripura Central University was started last year.
But due to COVID-19 pandemic situation, the process was halted.
The University sources confirmed that the new vice chancellor will join within this month.
Before Manipur University Ganga Prasad Prasin was a professor of Benares Hindu University.
