The Tripura Health department will arrange COVID-19 test for all the persons who are now in quarantine in the State.

This was informed by the Health secretary Dr Debasis Basu on Saturday.

Besides this 10 per cent random check will be done in Udaipur sub-division where the first coronavirus positive patient found in Tripura.

At present 769 persons are in quarantine and they would undergo COVID-19 test in phases.

At present 156 persons in quarantine centres and 613 persons in home quarantine.

All of them will undergo COVID-19 test in a week.

Dr Basu said two positive cases have been reported in the State so far and both the patients are under proper care in the dedicated COVID-19 hospital.

He also informed that both the patients found in Tripura are asymptomatic.

The second round of test will will be conducted on Sunday for the first covid-19 patient.

And if she found negative for second time then the doctors may declare her as safe.

According to the latest surveillance report, as many as 10,585 persons including international travellers have been quarantined in Tripura till date and 9816 persons among them have already completed the 14 days observation period.

Besides, total 361 samples have been collected and 337 samples have been tested including the two positive cases.

The Health secretary also stated that Asha workers will visit the houses of the persons who visited various PHCs and CHCs from March.

If any symptom is noticed in anyone of them, necessary arrangements would be done for testing, Dr Basu told the media.
