The Sonamura sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) has filed a case against three COVID-19 positive patients in Tripura on Friday.

The case has been filed at Sonamura police station in Sepahijla district.

SDM Subrata Majumder told Northeast Now over phone that, the three positive patients went home on Thursday from quarantine center not informing anything to others.

There is a quarantine centre at Durlabha Narayan class XII school.

Some people are staying at that quarantine centre, and they returned from outside Tripura.

Among the quarantine people, three have been tested positive on Wednesday night.

And on Thursday morning the three went home without informing anything.

Later, they were found at their homes in the evening.

On Thursday night, with the help of administration and police they were shifted to Sagar Mahal Covid Care Centre.

Nalchar BDO has submitted a report to SDM Thursday night itself.

After getting the report SDM Subrata Majumder has filed a FIR against the three at Sonamura police station.

Meanwhile, there is a quarantine centre at Indiranagar Madrasa in the subdivision.

The centre is located in the Melaghar Municipality area.

Several people there were found COVID-19 positive last Saturday.

But they could not be taken to Covid Care Centre for treatment due to the obstruction of their relatives.

But they were finally taken to the care centre on Thursday night six days after being tested positive.

On Wednesday, when the administration and police went there to take them to Covid Care Centre, they had to face a mob attack while bringing these positive patients to the hospital.

There were also incidents of bike vandalism on that night.

Later, the COVID-19 positive patients of Indiranagar Madrassa quarantine centre were sent to Covid Care Centre on Thursday night.

Meanwhile, a new Covid Care Centre has been opened in Sepahijla district at Sagar Mahal in Melaghar.

There are 60 beds in the centre.

The patients of Durlabhanarayan and Indiranagar have been kept there.

New doctors and nurses have also been trained to work at the centre.

Patients have been admitted there since Thursday night.

Meanwhile, 14 more new coronavirus cases were detected in the sub-division on Thursday night.

They will be taken to Covid Care Centre at Sagar Mahal by noon on Friday.
