Few MLAs of the opposition CPI-M are in touch with the ruling BJP in Tripura.

This was claimed by Tripura minister and BJP leader Sushanta Chowdhury on Thursday.

Chowdhury said that the popularity of PM Narendra Modi in Tripura is “on the rise”.

He alleged that the CPI-M MLAs who are in touch with the BJP are “not happy” with its leader and former chief minister Manik Sarkar.

“Some CPI-M MLAs are in touch with the BJP. They are not happy with Manik Sarkar. The MLAs have informed us that Manik Sarkar cannot tolerate the rise of others in the state’s politics,” Tripura minister Sushanta Chowdhury said.

Chowdhury’s claim came after former Tripura CM and CPI-M stalwart Manik Sarkar accused PM Modi of delivering a misleading speech during January 4 visit to the state.
