A six-year-old girl Sayantika Deb from Tripura donated her entire piggy bank savings of Rs 6,005 to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to help the government in tackling the COVID19 pandemic.

Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb thanked the little girl for her generosity.

“I thank 1st Standard student Sayantika Deb for donating her entire piggy bank savings of Rs6005 to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund today. I appreciate her thinking and together we will overcome this Pandemic situation,” Deb tweeted.

Many young children have come forward to donate in whatever way they can to the relief funds of the respective state or to the PM-CARES fund to help the country in tackling the coronavirus pandemic.

To fight the COVID19 pandemic, a 7-year-old boy Rommel Lalmuansanga from Venglai in Mizoram’s Kolasib district also came forward to donate his entire savings to the Village Level Task Force.

Mizoram chief minister Zoramthanga praised the little boy for donating Rs 333 in cash and coins.

Sharing images of Rommel Lalmuansanga and his donated money, Mizoram chief minister Zoramthanga on his Twitter handle said:  “This tiny bundle contains Rs. 333/- in cash and coins; 7-year-old Rommel Lalmuansanga from KolasibVenglai donated his entire savings to his Village Level Task Forces in this war against the dreaded Covid-19 pandemic.”

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lauded the efforts of children who have decided to contribute in whatever way they can in helping the country fight this worrying crisis.
