A 48-year-old journalist, Biswajit Bhattacharya, working for DD News committed suicide at his residence at Kamalpur in Tripura’s Dhalai district on Saturday, police said.
“Bhattacharya was found hanging at his residence on Saturday morning,” said a police official.
Police are yet to ascertain the reason behind the alleged suicide. Bhattacharya has not left behind any suicide note, police said.
He leaves behind his wife and an 11-year-year old daughter.
Bhattacharjee also contributed for Dainik Sambad, a leading daily newspaper in Tripura.
His body has been sent for postmortem examination.
