While entrepreneurship is still lacking a required push in Assam, Rongali Start Up & Entrepreneurship Conclave is aiming at creating an ecosystem for entrepreneurship in Northeast and will organise a daylong conclave in Guwahati on February 22.

Secretary DoNER Naveen Verma will inaugurate the event which will also be attended by Ravi Capoor, Additional Chief Secretary, Govt of Assam, B P Muktieh, CMD, NeDFI, PVSLN Murthy, CGM, SBI, Utpal Bora, CMD, OIL.

It is a part of Rongali initiative which aims to showcase Assam as a tourist destination. The conclave plans to bring young minds of the region face to face with some of India’s finest young entrepreneurs like Tridib Konwar, Perveez Ubed, Mridu Das who will present their start up story. Konwar runs a start up for parking solution while Ubed runs an eyecare solution which is helping around 1.5 lakh poor people.

The daylong conclave will be held at Radisson Blu Hotel in Guwahati. The major attractions of the event will be – NSRCEL of IIM Bangalore who will educate budding entrepreneurs of how to build a startup ecosystem, NeDFI presenting its Rs 100 crore venture capital fund, OIL presenting its Rs 50 crore Startup Fund, IIT Guwahati presenting its incubation programme, Angel Investors coming from Chandigarh and Mumbai to talk about funding procedures, SBI presenting its various schemes to fund first generation entrepreneurs.

To encourage budding entrepreneurs, iconic entrepreneurs of the region including Dr Nomal Borah of GNRC, Abhijit Barooah of Premier Cryogenics, Larsing Ming of Center Point Group, Dr Dhabali Th of Classic Hotel Group, Basant Khetan of Kaziranga University will share their entrepreneurial journey. In another session, entertainers like Tarsame Mittal, Zubeen Garg, Sukracharya Rabh and IPS officer Diganta Bora will also interact with the audience.

Renowned entrepreneur Shyamkanu Mahanta is the brain behind the conclave. He said that the objective of the conclave is to create a culture of entrepreneurship and to create start up ecosystem. Around 400 bright aspiring entrepreneurs from Assam and rest of Northeast region are coming to attend the conclave.
