Earlier, the organizations threatened to launch agitation if the government transfers an inch of district land to the proposed Greater Nagalim.

Hundreds of protestors with national flags in their hands under the banners of various organizations staged protests in Haflong recently. The protesters gathered at Shambhudhon point braving cold weather.

The agitators not only opposed any move to include Dima Hasao in Greater Nagalim but they also opposed even formation of satellite council including the territory of the district as proposed in the Framework Agreement as reported in the media.

A number of Dimasa bodies – including JNH, DSU, DMA on Sunday expressed their resentment on the issue of transfer of part of Dima Hasao territory in the proposed Nagalim.
