Nagaland CEO Abhijit Sinha along with others launching ‘Electors Verification Programme’ at Kohima on Sunday.

Nagaland chief electoral officer and home commissioner Abhijit Sinha launched the Electors Verification Programme in Kohima on Sunday.

In his address, Sinha said the Electors Verification Programme was a campaign launched across the country on September 1.

The objective of the programme is to sensitise, motivate and mobilise citizens, stakeholders and electors to check elector’s detail in the electoral roll and do the necessary correction, if any, by either visiting the voters facilitation centres, common service centres (CSCs).

Voters can also visit the ECI website or downloading a mobile app and uploading a scanned identification card as proof for one’s correct details.

The programme will culminate on October 15.

The CEO said the aim is to achieve the desired target of 100 per cent, with strategies for communication, so as to ensure that no voter is left behind.

He also said the programme was also meant to reach out to all the electors in the state and motivate them to check their electoral details and do necessary correction, if any.

During the programme, a demonstration on how to use the app was presented by AEO (MIS) Ketousie.
