The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) on Saturday set a 15-day deadline to Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio to meet its charter of demands.

In a memorandum to Rio, the Federation demanded approval and implementation of the Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) policy forwarded to the government by the board committee.

It also demanded that issuance of separate notifications scrapping all departmental exams and banning direct recruitment to all Group C posts.

The memorandum submitted to Neiphiu Rio said notification should be issued that Group C posts will be requisitioned through open recruitment by the soon-to-be setup NSSB.

The Federation further resolved to boycott all departmental exams henceforth.

It said any action in contravention to the same by any department will be dealt with in a befitting manner.

The NSF decided to keep a strict watch on any new development pertaining to these demands.

The Federation appealed to the government to comply with the demands and enforce them, failing which it will be compelled to take its own course of action.

“This is in the interest of the youths and students of the state,” the memorandum to Nagaland CM Neiphiu Rio said.

Besides, NSF president Ninoto Awomi and general secretary Liremo R. Kikon, the memorandum was signed by the leaders of 15 of its federating units of the Federation.
