KOHIMA: The Congress has accused the central government of employing a divide and rule strategy in relation to the “Frontier Nagaland” issue.

Speaking on the Frontier Nagaland issue, Nagaland Congress president S Supongmeren Jamir emphasized the legitimacy of Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation’s (ENPO) demands.

The Nagaland Congress chief noted that the ENPO is seeking what the Government of India (GoI) has promised them.

According to Jamir, ENPO has every right to express their dissatisfaction, and he criticized the BJP-led central government for taking misguided actions.

“We must demonstrate to the GoI that Nagas cannot be deceived by their tactics. As citizens, we consistently uphold truth and unity,” Nagaland Congress president S Supongmeren Jamir said.

He said that the Congress party is “ready to fight for Nagaland”.

“We are fully committed to advocating for our state. Our voters hold great expectations, and we aim to fulfil them. They will cast their votes in favour of secularism,” the Nagaland Congress president affirmed on Monday (March 18).

The Congress leader further alleged that the Modi-led BJP government in the Centre has obstructed the efforts of the 60 elected members of the Nagaland assembly, including the 12 from the BJP, in their pursuit of delivering justice to the people of the state.
