Nagaland’s first three villages to achieve 100% Covid19 vaccination found mention in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat with the nation on Sunday.

“I came to know about three villages of Nagaland…There also, cent per cent population has been vaccinated,” Modi said.

The three villages which achieved 100% vaccination for all eligible beneficiaries are Nutsü village in Kiphire district and Sapotimi village and Phuye Old village, both under Suruhuto block in Zunheboto district.

The Nagaland health department congratulated the three villages for achieving 100% vaccination of people of 45 years and above and also for achieving 100% first dose vaccination in the age group of 18 to 44 years.

Aoyimkum village under Chumukedima block in Dimapur district also achieved 100% Covid19 vaccination with the first dose.

Meanwhile, Nagaland on Sunday reported nil Covid19 death and 111 new positive cases.

A total of 73 positive people recovered in the last 24 hours, the department said.

Of the new cases, Dimapur registered 21, Kohima 33, Mokokchung 16, Mon 5, Peren 2, Tuensang 25, Wokha 1 and Zunheboto 8.

Among the 73 recoveries, Dimapur recorded 36, Kohima 7, Mokokchung 14, Peren 12, Tuensang 3 and Wokha 1.

The state registered more recoveries than new cases for the fourth consecutive week from June 19-June 25.

The week registered 1,185 recoveries against 662 fresh cases, the State Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme said in its weekly Covid19 roundup released on Saturday.

“The 7-day moving average of new cases has reduced to 84 from 305 cases at the peak of the wave,” it said.

Dimapur witnessed the steepest drop in weekly positivity from 50 percent in the first week of May to seven percent in the week from June 19-June 25.

The fatality rate due to the virus remained at 1.8% against the country’s 1.3%.
