In a bid to motivate locals, the Serchhip Battalion of Assam Rifles at the initiative of HQ 23 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (East) organised an awareness lecture on government schemes specific to women in Mizoram.
To achieve the motto of ‘Winning Hearts & Minds of local populace’, the awareness lecture was organised at Sangau-II village on Wednesday.
“The aim of the lecture was to spread awareness about government schemes launched for women to improve the social and economic conditions of women across the country,” the HQ IGAR (East) said in a press statement.
During the lecture, attendees were educated about the various schemes by the central and state governments like Anganwadi services, Swadhar Greh Scheme, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and Sukanya Samridhi Yojna.
The other schemes that the awareness lecture which were covered in Rashtriya Mahila Kosh (RMK), Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojna, Maternity Programme and Nari Shakti Puruskar, it said.

The locals extended their heartfelt gratitude towards the Assam Rifles for educating them about various government schemes.
While informing about the awareness lecture, the HQ IGAR (East) tweeted: “Serchhip Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters 23 Sector Assam Rifles/ Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) organized an awareness lecture on Government Schemes Specific to Women at Sangau-II village on 22 December 2021.”
