Senior doctor from Meghalaya – Dr Sanjay Kumar Barman has passed away due to COVID-19. 

Dr Barman, who served as a radiologist with the Meghalaya Government, breathed his last at the age of 70. 

He passed away at the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) on Tuesday. 

Dr Sanjay Kumar Barman died due to COVID pneumonia at the NEIGRIHMS. 

Dr Barman was a resident of Laitumkhrah in Shillong. 

He had retired from services of Meghalaya Government as a senior radiologist.

Dr Barman completed his MBBS from the Guwahati Medical College Hospital in 1980. 

He also did short term training in CT from AIIMS, New Delhi in 2006. 

After retirement from Meghalaya Government services, he worked at Ramakrishna Mission Clinic in Shillong for few years and then worked for about 10 years in Guwahati. 

Dr Barman leaves behind his wife Baby Pohti and two sons – Sanjeev and Sujoy.
