Shillong: The Meghalaya Government has announced plans to establish its first-ever veterinary college and hospital.

The college will be located in Kyrdemkulai, Ri-Bhoi district, while the hospital will be situated in Upper Shillong.

This was shared by Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Minister, AL Hek, who also informed that the department is currently preparing the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for both projects.

Once finalized, the government will seek funding from the central government.

“I have instructed my officers to expedite the process as I want the project to be approved before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections commence”, stated Hek.
