IMPHAL: In a significant joint operation, the Indian Army and Manipur police recovered a substantial cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives in Kangpokpi district.

Acting on precise intelligence about the presence of these materials in the fringe areas of Kangpokpi district of Manipur, the team launched the operation on Friday.

The operation led to the recovery of a .303 Rifle with a magazine, two 12-bore single-barrel rifles, two HE-36 hand grenades, a 9mm pistol with a magazine, seven live rounds of ammunition, two blank rounds of ammunition, and a Motorola set with an antenna.

While no arrests have been made, the recovered items have been handed over to the local police station for further legal action.

In related news, police reported the installation of 122 checkpoints across various districts in Manipur, covering both hill and valley areas.

These checkpoints led to the detention of 74 individuals for various violations across Manipur.
