Imphal: Manipur Education Minister Thounaojam Basanta Kumar Singh issued a stern warning to individuals disrupting the state’s education sector, stating that law enforcement agencies will take necessary actions against those found involved in activities that compromise peace and stability.

Speaking to newsmen in Imphal, Minister Singh emphasized the importance of maintaining a disturbance-free environment in educational institutions.

He appealed to students to refrain from non-academic activities such as meetings and rallies, urging the public to support the Education Department’s efforts to boost the sector.

The minister’s warning comes in response to a viral Facebook post calling for a meeting at DM University on September 18 to discuss ongoing issues.

However, the post lacked a signature and organizational affiliation, raising concerns about anti-social elements attempting to destabilize the education sector.

Dhanamanjuri University Student’s Union and six student bodies have since clarified they are not associated with the planned rally.

Singh reassured that the Education Department is working to address the losses incurred by the sector in recent days.
