On the last day of nomination filing for the ensuing Tripura Assembly polls on Wednesday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) used the streets across Tripura on Wednesday as political platforms by carrying out long rallies with party supporters and members during nomination filing of party candidates.

On Wednesday, the BJP candidates of 54 Kadamtala Kurtri Assembly constituency – Tinku Roy and 55 Bagpasha constituency – Pradeep Nath submitted nomination papers before the ADM Aditi Majumder followed by 56 Dharmanagar Assembly constituency and 57 Jubarajnagar assembly constituency candidate Jadav Debnath filed nomination papers before the SDM, Pradip Acharjee.

As per the Election Commission guidelines, January 31, 2018 was the last day of filing nominations for the Tripura Assembly elections 2018.

Voting for the 60-member Tripura Legislative Assembly has been scheduled to be held on February 18 while the results will be announced on March 3.

While filing nomination papers for the 54 Kadamtala Kurtri Assembly constituency, party candidate Tinku Roy urged the people to give the saffron party a chance and to see a wave of development in the State.

On the other hand, Biswabandhu Sen also urged the people to vote for the BJP and help the party to form a new government in Tripura which has been under the Left Front government since long.

As per media reports a total of 31 candidates submitted nomination papers from six constituencies in the northern district of Dhalai of Tripura on Wednesday.

According to information, 31 candidates from different political parties filed their nominations to their respective Returning Officers.
