Kuldeep Saini has taken over the charge of Inspector General, Border Security Force, Meghalaya Frontier at Shillong on Tuesday. Saini has come on his permanent posting from Subsidiary Training Centre, Jodhpur in Rajasthan.

Saini has replaced Lalatendu Mohanti, IPS, who has joined as Inspector General to Force HQ in New Delhi.

Saini has emphasised on use of technology for effective border management in order to prevent and curb trans-border crimes, maintaining cordial relations with the border population, respecting human rights, and welfare of troops.

An Officer of 1984 (Direct Entry) batch and one of the most experienced officers, who has served all over the country, Saini has been awarded with President Police Medal for Meritorious Service  and President Police Medal for Distinguish Service and other such awards in recognition of his dedication while executing duties.  He also has experience of serving in Valley (Jammu & Kashmir) during the militancy on its peak.
