In a major breakthrough the Dharmanagar police led by OC Benumadhav Dey seized a huge quantity of foreign as well as country made liquor from Dharmanagar East market.
Acting on a tip off police raided the East Market and seized the liquor worth more than Rs 5 lakh.
Later police also seized the liquor making factory at Rajnagar area.
The new BJP government in the state has directed the administration to launch drives against contraband goods.
Talking to media, OC Benumadhav Dey said the raids will continue in the coming days and actions will be taken for curbing the menace at Dharmanagar.
