The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of NF Railway rescued 11 minor children from stations during last week.

Among the rescued children, eight minor children were rescued from Katihar Railway station and three runaway minor children were rescued from Guwahati Railway Station, NF Railway said in a statement.

 In an incident on December 30, the RPF team and Railway ChildLine of Guwahati conducted jointly checking at Guwahati Railway station and rescued one runaway minor boy aged about 14 years.

The rescued boy was brought to RPF/Post/Guwahati and later, he was handed over to Railway Child Line, Guwahati for safe custody and further necessary action.

In another incident on December 28 RPF of Katihar (E) with Lady Constable of Meri Saheli team/Katihar and Railway Child Line/Katihar conducted jointly checking in train No. 12523 DN (New Jalpaiguri – New Delhi SF Express) at Katihar Railway station and rescued eight minor children.

They were brought to RPF/Post/Katihar (E) and handed over to the Coordinator, Railway Child Line/Katihar (Bihar) for taking necessary formalities.

In one such incident on  December 27 acting on information regarding a runaway of a minor girl aged about 13 years and travelling in train No. 01666 DN (Agartala – Rani Kamalapati special), the RPF team of Guwahati conducted checking in the said train at Guwahati Railway station.

During checking, they detected the said girl in a general coach of the train.

Later, the rescued girl was handed over to Railway Child Line, Guwahati for safe custody and further necessary action.

Again on  December 25,  RPF of Guwahati, while conducting a check at Guwahati Railway station jointly with a member of Railway Child Line, Guwahati, rescued one runaway minor boy.

The boy could not give any contact number of his parents/relatives.

As such, he was handed over to Railway Child Line, Guwahati for his safe custody and further course of action.
