The Congress party on Friday released the names of the candidates for the remaining four seats in Assam for the impending Lok Sabha elections.
As per the list released by the Central Election Committee (CEC) of the Congress, Bobbeeta Sharma has been fielded for the Gauhati seat while Abdul Khaleque has been nominated from Barpeta.
Abu Taher Ali Bepari is the Congress face in Dhubri and Sabda Ram Rabha will be in the fray in Kokrajhar (ST). Rabha was previously in the AGP.
Abdul Khaleque is the sitting MLA from Jania in Barpeta district while Bobbeeta Sharma unsuccessfully contested from the Gauhati East constituency in the 2016 Assembly polls. She had lost to BJP’s Siddhartha Bhattacharya.
Bobbeeta will be pitted against Queen Ojha of the BJP in the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls. Bobbeeta is the general secretary of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC).
