East Tawang Brigade of the Blazing Sword Division organised a ‘Run for Fun’ event on Saturday with an aim to increase awareness and fostering friendship with sister forces, civil administration and civil population.

A total of 300 participants including students, civilians from adjoining villages, personnel from SSB, ITBP, SIB and State Police joined the 5 km run event.

A medical camp was also organised after the culmination of the event and refreshments were provided to all the participants.

The Deputy Commissioner of Tawang, Sang Phuntsok, the Superintendent of Police of Tawang, Harsh, assistant director, SIB,  Kenny, teachers of Tawang Public School, the local populace appreciated the initiative taken by the Indian Army and assured full support and co-operation to the armed forces for such activities in future.

The event was specially appreciated by the youth of the region, as it motivated them and strengthened their resolve to join the armed forces.

Arunachal Pradesh’s Tawang is home to the 17th-century Tawang Monastery, a hilltop structure housing a massive gilded Buddha statue.
