The Central Government has sanctioned a sum of Rs 268.63 crore to Tripura after this bordering State in the Northeast has been affected by cyclone Titli as well as floods and landslides during the recent months.

The decision was taken in a high level committee meeting chaired by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

This is an additional assistance from National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF). A amount of Rs 1023.59 crore was also sanctioned for Odisha.

The meeting was held here to consider the additional Central Assistance to these two States, which were affected by these two natural disaster.

The Union Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley, Union Minister for Agriculture Radha Mohan Singh, Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba and senior officers of the Ministries of Home Affairs, Finance and Agriculture were present in the meeting.
