Along with the rest of hill State of Arunachal Pradesh, the land of the rising sun, the people of Bordumsa Circle in Changlang district too joined the celebrations of the 31st Statehood Day organized here in Bordumsa general ground with a day-long colorful programme at the initiative of the Sub-Divisional administration.
The celebration was kicked off here on Tuesday morning with the unfurling of the National Flag amidst a large gathering of people from various walks of life.
Addressing the people of the sub-division and State as a whole after his warm greetings on the auspicious occasion, Sabadam Tayang, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (In-charge), Bordumsa while attending the event as the Chief Guest spoke about the significance of the day and told that Arunachal Pradesh was granted statehood on this day in 1987.
Tayong also threw ample light on the journey of the State since its inception through various thick and thin to be a full-fledged State and recognized globally for different meaningful reasons.
It may be recalled here that the North East Frontier Agency (NEFA) was created in 1954 and later in 1972, it became the Union Territory of Arunachal Pradesh with its administrative headquarters at Shillong (until 1974, when it was transferred to Itanagar). Arunachal received statehood in 1987.
Briefing the developmental aspects accomplished by various departments across Bordumsa Sub-division, Tayang after unfurling the tricolour hoped that the pace of the developmental works would scale a new height.
He sought people’s participation in the governance so that the administration would draw inspiration to help in realizing the lofty socio-economic objectives by removing disparity to achieve the set goals and objectives of the preamble of the Indian Constitution.
Laying emphasis on maintaining the solidarity and integrity among the people inhabiting the geography peacefully promoting a sense of fraternity since ages Tayang said, “Unless the people stand united and fight the common evils that are detrimental to society, achieving the set goals would remain just a utopian dream.” He also underlined the status of the ongoing Trans-Arunachal Highway.
Sharing the pains and inconvenience of the general people, Tayang, while inaugurating an office-cum-residential building of Tax and Excise in the township, urged the officials of various departments of the Sub-division to ensure regularity, punctuality, commitment and allegiances towards their people and discharge their respective duty in true spirits without acting contrary to the expectations of the people. In the wake of Panchayat elections slated for next few months, Tayong took the opportunity to urge all corners and stand united to help the State machineries realize the ends peacefully with utmost sincerity maintaining common decorum in the process.
Meanwhile, with various cultural presentations from different communities including the Singphos, Tangsa, Nocte, tea tribe, Ponthai, Mossang, Khamti and Deori, the entire celebration wore a festive look where the people in true spirit and unison rejoiced the historic day exhibiting their unity in diversity and commitment to walk together for the behest of the State.
Among others who attended the celebration included Mayong Maio, BJP State Secretary, Executive Engineers of the Department of Hydro Power Development, PHE, ZPM Bordumsa, Tongko Singpho, Sindunong Singpho, chairperson of Bordumsa Anchal Samity, Pisilu Singpho, president of Mahila Mandal, officials of 26 Punjab Regiment of Indian Army and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
