RPF of NF Railway arrests

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Northeast Frontier Railway arrested one tout and recovered 10 used railway e-tickets and nabbed another person, from whom 2 mobile phones, belonging to a train passenger, were recovered.

The NF Railway informed that on July 26, 2021 at about 11:40 am, a CIB team of RPF in Tinsukia and RPF Post, Dibrugarh Workshop conducted a raid jointly after receiving information regarding touting activities by a shop named ‘T.D. Communication’ situated at Poruni Masjid at Borbaruah in Dibrugarh district.

During raid and search in the shop, the RPF team apprehended one person namely, Tridip Deori of Madhupur Deori Gaon near the LP School at Borbaruah and recovered 10 used railway e-tickets worth Rs. 59,507.96, the NF Railway said in a statement.

The said tickets were generated by using his personal user IDs, it said.

One laptop, 1 mobile handset and 1 printer were also seized from the shop. In this regard, the RPF Post, Dibrugarh Workshop registered a case.

In another incident, on the intervening night of July 24-25, 2021 during performing night checking duty, RPF personnel of Rangiya Post and QRT, Rangiya apprehended one person namely Sanjay Narzary, a resident of Kumarikata village in Baksa district.

The RPF recovered 2 mobile phones, one of which was stolen from a passenger of train no. 03175 UP, namely Jaydev Sarkar of Saloi Pahari under Hirban PS in West Bengal’s Bankura.

Later, the apprehended person along with the recovered mobile phones was handed over to the OC of GRP, Rangiya for further necessary action, the NFR statement said.
