Assam Congress in-charge has said that there has been no interference of the party’s high command in New Delhi in the selection process of candidates for the Assam Assembly elections.

Taking a dig at the BJP, Jitendra Singh said that the saffron party’s candidates for Assam Assembly elections have been selected by New Delhi “under the guidance of Nagpur”.

“There has been no interference from the high command. No one has gone to Delhi for candidates’ selection process. Everything has been done here in Assam itself,” said Assam Congress in-charge Jitendra Singh.

Further hitting out at the BJP, Jitendra Singh said: “In the BJP everybody in Assam had to go to Delhi for selection of candidates. New Delhi selected BJP’s candidates for Assam under the direction of Nagpur.”

“The Congress selection committee has come down to Assam for selection of candidates. No one from the State needed to go to Delhi,” said Assam Congress in-charge Jitendra Singh.

“Congress is taking every decision for Assam in Assam,” added Jitendra Singh.

Speaking about the campaigning of the Congress party in Assam, Jitendra Singh said that every party worker are working very hard for this elections.

“Everyone is a Congress worker. Be it the Lok Sabha MPs – Abdul Khaleque, Pradyut Bordoloi, Gaurav Gogoi or the APCC president Ripun Bora or AIMCC chief Sushmita Dev. Everybody is working together and hard” said Jitendra Singh.
