After failing to smuggle cattle in Scorpio car and tempo, now cattle smugglers have used Tata Sumo to avoid checking by Dhubri Police.

However, such an attempt was also foiled by Dhubri Police.

Earlier, Dhubri Police foiled an attempt of cattle smuggling on August 20 in which a Scorpio car was used and another attempt on August 24 when a tempo was used.

The incident of cattle smuggling attempt by using a Tata Sumo car took place on Sunday.

As part of their continuous drive against cattle smuggling, Dhubri Police on Sunday seized a Tata Sumo car carrying two cattle heads.

The police also arrested three persons during an operation under Bilasipara police station of Dhubri district.

While, sharing a tweet of Dhubri Police with images of the cattle smugglers along with the seized car and cattle heads, Dhubri superintendent of police Anand Mishra tweeted on Sunday: “Caught with all his #sophistication with open mouth and cold sweat. Alas, the Brat Cops could not appreciate the finesee of their modus operandi!!”

The Dhubri Police on its Twitter handle said Sophisticated Ali (27) of Gutipara Pt.2,  Montaz Ali (40) of Kathaldi Pt.2 village and Jiyarul Hoque (24) of Suapata Pt. village, all under Bilasipara PS, were arrested while trying to transport 2 cattle heads in a Sumo car.

The police have seized the Sumo car and the cattle heads.

“Investigation on to ascertain from where the cows were given a ‘lift’ and where they headed to” said police.
