A five-member delegation from Ladakh arrived in Kokrajhar on Sunday to study the functioning of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) administration and understand its work strategy.

The team is led by liaison officer Urgain Nurboo and the other members include Rinzin Dorjay, Thinlay Nurboo, Stalin Chophel, Tsring Angchok and Jigmet Paljore.

Nurboo informed Ladakh Union Territory administration has sponsored the tour and the main aim of the study and understand the functioning of BTC administration.

“We aim to understand the BTC funding structure, budgetary structure, fundraising, mobilization of centrally sponsored schemes and development of the region,” Nurboo added.

The delegation on Monday visited the Central Institute of Technology (CIT), Bodoland University, Kokrajhar Government College, Bodoland Movement Martyrs’ Cemetery and Joint Directorate of Sericulture.

They also visited Bathou Thanshali, Baganshali of Kokrajhar in the evening and held discussions with the Bathou religious leaders.

Later, the delegates called on ABSU and Bodoland Students’ Union (BSU) leaders and discussed various issues.
