Four women were killed- three on spot and one at the hospital- in a road mishap at Boko of Kamrup district on Sunday night.
Identified as Sushila Rabha, Putuli Rabha, Minoti Rabha and Reena Rabha, the deceased were vegetable vendors.
They were returning home after their day’s business when the TATA ACE they were travelling in collided head-on with a speeding dumper coming from the opposite direction.
Police arrived at the accident spot and took stock of the two damaged vehicles and sent the bodies of the dead women for post mortem.
The driver of the TATA ACE was sent to GMCH for further treatment and he is said to be in a critical condition.
