A jewellery store at city’s Kalapahar area here was looted at gunpoint in broad daylight on Friday.
A gang of three robbers came on bike, entered the shop with helmets on, looted jewellery worth Rs seven lakh and fled away.
Police officials said three persons, armed with pistol and sharp weapon, entered the MK Jewellers and asked the salesman to show some jewellery.
“As the salesman turned his back to get a box of jewellery, the trio collected jewellery in a bag before all of them fled,” said an official.
Along with jewellery, they also took away some cash from the cash box of the jewellery store.
Police have registered a case in connection with the incident and began investigation into it.
