Assam has registered 60 more COVID19 positive cases taking the state’s total to 774.

Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet on Wednesday evening said the infected patients are from Kamrup Metro, Hojai, Morigaon, Darrang, and Kamrup Rural districts.

The health minister informed that a total of 41 positive cases have been detected in the Kamrup Metro district while 9 persons have tested positive in Hojai districts.

He also said 5 persons have tested positive in Morigaon districts, 4 positive cases have been detected in Darrang district while 1 tested positive in Kamrup Rural district.

“Alert ~ 60 new cases of #COVID19+ reported. 41 Kamrup Metro, 9 Hojai, 5 Morigaon, 4 Darrang, 1 Kamrup,” health minister Sarma tweeted at 6.30 pm on Wednesday.

With the new cases, the number of active COVID19 positive cases in Assam has increased to 705.

Earlier, a total of 62 COVID19 patients were discharged from various hospitals across Assam after their recovery.

The deadly disease has so far claimed the lives of 4 persons while 3 cases migrated.

“Total cases 774. Recovered 62. Active cases 705. Deaths 04. Migrated 03,” Sarma added.

On Wednesday, Assam has registered a total of 92 positive cases.

India has registered 1,51,767 COVID19 positive cases so far with 4,337 deaths.

Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, and Delhi have reported the highest number of COVID19 positive cases.

Globally, the COVID19 has affected over 56 lakh people and at least 3.5 lakh people have died so far.
