COVID19 Assam update 1

Assam has registered 111 more COVID19 positive cases, taking the state’s overall tally to 1,988.

Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet at 6.39 pm on Thursday said the infected patients are from Hojai, Kamrup, Nagaon, Morigaon, Nalbari, Goalpara, Golaghat, Jorhat, and Dhubri districts.

The health minister informed that 46 persons have tested COVID19 positive in Hojai district, 28 positive cases have been detected in Udalguri district and 11 persons have tested positive in Kamrup.

While 10 persons have tested positive in Nagaon, 5 positive cases have been reported from Morigaon and 3 cases have been reported from Nalbari.

Goalpara district has reported 3 positive cases, 2 cases have been reported from Golaghat district, 2 from Jorhat, and 1 case has been reported from Dhubri district.

“Alert ~ 111 new cases of #COVID19+. 46 Hojai, 28 Udalguri, 11 Kamrup, 10 Nagaon, 5 Morigaon, 3 Nalbari, 3 Goalpara, 2 Golaghat, 2 Jorhat, 1 Dhubri,” health minister Sarma tweeted.

With the new cases, the number of active cases in Assam stands at 1,539.

Earlier, a total of 442 COVID19 patients have been discharged from various hospitals across Assam after their recovery.

The deadly disease has so far claimed the lives of 4 cases while 3 cases migrated from the state.

On Thursday, Assam has registered a total of 158 cases so far.
